I have always had a passion for children and education. What happens in childhood can shape a person for life. Too many young people face mental health challenges due to stress, anxiety, and adverse childhood experiences, and lack the resilience to cope with them. I have personal experience with anxiety; my faith has truly helped me grow as a person and build my confidence. I also find solace in nature and in spending time with animals.
If we learn to recognize the warning signs of poor mental health and raise awareness of the effects of ACE, the next generation will be less likely to see suicide as their only option—or even to consider it at all—because they will know the love that God has for them and that they deserve.
